- Have the blood test taken in person at the time you booked – if booked online, we will contact you and book blood tests for you at a local hospital near you.
- Receive a thorough and personal review of your results by phone within 2-3 business days after the blood test has been taken. You will receive the results yourself on 'sundhed.dk' within 24 hours.

Content in hormone analysis for women
FSH (Follicle-stimulating hormone)
Function: Produced in the pituitary gland and regulates the growth and maturation of ovarian follicles.
Importance: FSH levels reflect ovarian function and egg reserves. Elevated levels can be a sign of reduced ovarian function or early menopause, while low levels can indicate pituitary problems. Measuring FSH helps understand menstrual cycle disorders, infertility, and hormonal imbalances.
LH (Luteinizing Hormone)
Function: Also produced by the pituitary gland; triggers ovulation and stimulates progesterone production from the corpus luteum.
Importance: The ratio between LH and FSH provides important information about ovulation and ovarian function. Deviations can indicate hormonal imbalances, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), or menopause. LH is therefore central to understanding the menstrual cycle and fertility.
Estradiol (E2)
Function: Primarily estrogen in women of reproductive age, produced in the ovaries.
Importance: Estradiol controls the menstrual cycle, regulates the uterine lining, affects bone health, skin, mood, and libido. Low levels can cause symptoms such as hot flashes, sleep disturbances, dryness, and mood swings. High levels can occur with certain hormonal imbalances or medications.
Progesterone
Function: Produced in the corpus luteum after ovulation and prepares the uterus for pregnancy.
Importance: Measuring progesterone helps assess whether ovulation is occurring and whether the body is producing sufficient progesterone to support the cycle and fertility. Low progesterone can explain menstrual irregularities, mood swings, sleep problems, and menopausal symptoms.
Testosterone
Function: Produced in small amounts in women in the ovaries and adrenal glands.
Importance: Testosterone affects energy, muscle mass, bone health, libido, and mood. Too little can lead to fatigue, decreased sex drive, and loss of muscle strength, while too much can cause increased hair growth or acne. In menopausal women, changes in testosterone levels can contribute to symptoms such as decreased energy and sexual desire.
Hemoglobin (Hb)
Function: Protein in red blood cells that transports oxygen around the body.
Importance: Low hemoglobin indicates anemia, which can cause fatigue, dizziness, difficulty concentrating, and reduced physical performance. This is often relevant in menopausal women, who may experience altered blood status due to hormonal changes or blood loss.
Ferritin
Function: Iron storage protein that indicates the body's total iron stores.
Importance: Low ferritin can lead to fatigue, hair loss, dizziness, and difficulty concentrating. Even without low hemoglobin, low ferritin can indicate the beginning of iron deficiency. Monitoring ferritin is therefore important for preventing symptoms and optimizing energy and well-being.
TSH (Thyroid-stimulating hormone)
Function: Produced in the pituitary gland and regulates the thyroid gland's production of T3 and T4.
Importance: TSH provides important information about thyroid function. Elevated levels may indicate hypothyroidism, while low levels may indicate hyperthyroidism. Thyroid hormones affect energy, weight, mood, skin, hair, and the menstrual cycle, and symptoms can be confused with hormonal changes during menopause.

You then book an appointment for the blood sampling at the desired hospital yourself. Afterwards, you can easily and quickly have your blood test taken, and then our healthcare professionals will review the results with you over the phone.
