What does the Nordic Strong health package contain?
Valid Health, in collaboration with Nordic Strong, has put together a blood test package with some of the most essential markers.
It is a broad package that supports heart health, better performance, screening for diabetes, iron deficiency in women and testosterone in men.
The health package includes:
- cholesterol markers
- triglycerides
- long-term blood sugar
- blood count
- iron (for women)
- testosterone (for men)
Blood percentage: Hemoglobin binds oxygen and transports it around the body, where the oxygen is delivered to the body's organs and muscles. Low values of hemoglobin are by definition anemia, and there are many causes of anemia. Many of the symptoms of anemia and low hemoglobin levels are due to the lack of oxygen, e.g.; palpitations, shortness of breath, dizziness, fatigue.
Cholesterol: LDL, HDL and triglycerides: High cholesterol can negatively affect health and is one of the main causes of cardiovascular disease. High cholesterol is not a disease in itself, but is a condition that can lead to narrowing of the arteries and increase the risk of blood clots. Therefore, it is important to regularly monitor your cholesterol levels, as high cholesterol increases the risk of cardiovascular disease. Often, changing to a healthier lifestyle can lower high cholesterol levels by 10 to 15 percent.
Long-term blood sugar: A measurement of long-term blood sugar shows how your blood sugar levels have been over the past 2-3 months. Long-term blood sugar is a risk indicator for developing diabetes and cardiovascular disease (prediabetes)
Iron: 4 out of 10 women of childbearing age suffer from iron deficiency. The most common cause is too little iron in the diet. Women who menstruate heavily are particularly at risk due to increased iron loss. During pregnancy, the need for iron increases due to the growth and development of the uterus and fetus. The first signs of iron deficiency will often be paleness and fatigue. The symptoms are often overlooked at first, as they are not so pronounced. Later symptoms are decreased immune function, shortness of breath and dizziness.
Testosterone: All men experience a decline in testosterone production over the years. Research shows that testosterone is involved in the aging process and reduced testosterone affects sex drive, drive, strength, muscle mass and mental performance. Lifestyle changes (such as sleep, weight loss, exercise, diet) can boost testosterone levels. The effects are:
- Better mood, energy and concentration
- Increased muscle mass and strength
- Better erection and sex drive
- Strengthened bones
For men who experience severe symptoms and do not achieve sufficient relief through lifestyle changes, Valida Health also offers medical testosterone therapy in collaboration with our endocrinology specialist.
